November 2011 ~ As You Are

Sep 12, 2012

I’ve received several comments from various people throughout this past year who have noticed changes occurring energetically within me and around me. Yes, things have continued to change and evolve for me as they have for many people around the world. What we once built our dreams upon, invested in or worked towards has been challenged in some way whether it be due to the economy, our health, the unemployment figures or decisions made without our approval I know that it is time for us to incorporate our humanity and spirituality as one and live less separate lives.

Some people adorn themselves in their Sunday best for an hour or two or three just long enough to be recognized for the efforts they make to appear worthy of good character and sound judgment and believed to be an upstanding leader in a community, school, political venture, or neighbor to trust. However, there are other ways to know a person not for what country club they join or a league they’ve created of their own accord to insist upon their value to others. Are we learning the ways of our ancestors and finding out why they made the simple hearted gestures of a firm handshake or being true to their word and the importance of being genuine with intentions ~ not only to ourselves but to those we interact with, our family and friends and to those people who enter in and out of our lives as if in a whisper?

We find one of our most powerful creations are in the moments when we make a decision enacting change, understanding the gift of internal resistance, and living in the present moment with our actions, thoughts, words, touch, and gifts. When we choose to withhold our praise, acceptance, forgiveness, compassion, courtesy, kindness, love, money, time, home, food and other notable material objects we may find ourselves standing in the corners of our own Hell. If we are made in the image of God then is it our destiny to hold back and not provide, care for, share, engage our hearts and souls with those people who cross our paths for a minute, a day, or for several seasons? No matter where I am I believe God is…and no matter who I am with…God is. I am no closer to God then the person beside me unless I choose to separate from the concept that we are One. I find that when I live in this concept more and more I am able to encounter so many gifts from God instead of expecting to receive love and attention from only a few people I know that when I trust in the process and believe that I am where I need to be when I listen and follow the guidance from God. Yes, I believe we all have this internal compass and maybe it can be defined as a magnetic resonance as we draw nearer there is a stronger “attraction” and as we pull away there is less of a force but there is still a knowing that this force exists.

What forces have pulled you closer to you or repelled away from this past year? What have you allowed to become part of your life or possess your mind, body or soul? Are you an active participant in your life or do you idle nearby while others around you dictate what happiness, fulfillment, friendship or family “should” be? Have you found the inner peace within your self so you no longer need to have the power to judge another? Have you found your connection and purpose in each and every day including today? There is so much we can do for each other instead of imposing our will and expectations and judgments why not listen to your heart and soul and ask “what may I do for another?”

About two months ago I attended a workshop that gave me an opportunity to clear some cobwebs allowing me to draw closer to God. Working through the mazes of the mind and bypassing the criticisms of the ego and my fears I was able to “meet” God at the point of creation. One of the beautiful gifts I received was one of understanding how the flow of energy works instead of working against the grain I now know that by moving around a word or two the gift flows freely and with grace. Many of us have heard the phrase that you must give in order to receive. What I was given was the understanding that “As you receive, so shall you give.”

Consider how this statement makes you feel and what you may contemplate and consider. For me, I thought that in order for me to get something I better give something. Makes sense to my ego, but somehow I just really didn’t achieve a level of fulfillment that I now do with approaching life with this new mantra. There is so much on this planet that is asking for your attention ~ a kind word, a thoughtful gesture, a warm blanket or coat, a hearty meal given with a hug, and a place to sleep. What are you being called to do? What calls are you forwarding to your voice mail? And if you were the one making the call, in some way, a request, would you understand when you heard the voice mail message and never received a return call? We’ve had plenty of time to think about the condition of our lives and the well being of each other. Now what…

The times we are living in demands your call to action…to step into your destiny, by choice, not by default. Either way, come as you are with an open heart and a willingness to trust in the process instead of criticizing the process. Each morning before you get out of bed take a moment and ask for The Universe to show you how you can be of service today ~ to help another, heal a wound, honor your beliefs, show compassion and gratitude to someone you love and to someone you have yet to meet. The process of spiritual evolution is a choice and not a draft ~ because we are asked to no longer act out of obligation but from the places in our soul where the points of a spiritual humanity dwells within us as the Christ consciousness. Yes, we have the power of choice in this Universe of Free Will and the choices have consequences that create the being of who you are. Are you living a more conscientious life recognizing the power you have to create and plant, to nurture and affect, to drown in the past and destroy all signs of life and joy?

Each one of us is important and so are our choices, decisions, actions, thoughts and words. You are living your own karma, in one way or another, through sickness and health, for better or worse you are committed to the contract of living your life.

As Maya Angelou has said “When you know better, you do better.”
So, based on what you know…what are you doing now?
